Hi, this is GENo07 from ITLover0. Today’s post is going to be about Microsoft launcher review. Before we go into the review, I will first explain what a ‘launcher’ is. One of android’s biggest advantage is that it has a open system which means you can use third party apps to edit your UI or software. Using this kind of open system, the ‘launchers’ can edit and customize your home screen. There are many types of ‘launchers’ out there and for example, there is the launcher named “nova launcher”. Anyway, MS launcher is similar with these types of lauchers.
Review
Lets go into the review now. The review is based on my 3 month usage of it.
There aren’t much features to especially talk about except for the Wallpaper feature. If you tap your background once, then the photo automatically changes to Bing suggested photos. There are other features like using typical gestures that you cannot use when using other launchers but this is a simple review so if you are wondering what gestures you can use, check https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/launcher.
Benefit
Now, let me introduce you the benefits of using the MS launcher.
It has a lot of not-really-important-but-useful features. For example, you can check your widgets if you swipe the left and as I said, you can change your background photo with one tap. These features really made my phone experience way better and I really wondered ‘is this really my old phone that I was using for years?’.
There were also features that allow you to check your screen time when you pair your Microsoft account. It also has a back-up feature which helps your new phone’s settings and features be like your old phone.
Disadvantages
If there are benefits, there might as well be disadvantages.
It has an annoying bug. I used an LG phone for this launcher and I often use a feature called ‘smart doctor’ and empty my ram. Every time I try this with the MS launcher and do a gesture, it tells me to give permission. So when I empty it manually, it tells me again to give permission. Even when I didn’t empty the MS launcher. However, if I check the settings, it says I gave permission to it which is really ironic. I wish this bug gets fixed quick.
So?
Anyway, that is the end of the Microsoft launcher simple review. There really isn’t much to say about this launcher so I just wrote it as a simple review. To summarize, I think it is a useful launcher to use if you really like trying new stuff and you are a fan of Microsoft. I also enjoyed using it except for the bug that constantly annoyed me. Thank you for reading our post today and I will see you on further posts then. Bye!
