Hello, I am homcorn from ITLover0.com Today’s post is going to be about why the October 18 Apple Event was disappointing and did not interest me as much as the older events or other tech events did. I do not mean the Event itself. I mean the products introduced during the Event. This post is 100% based on my opinion. There might be various opinions about this idea including denying and opposing my thought. Before I go right into the main text, I would like to say that I have no intent of offending Apple itself and this is just one opinion about one event Apple held on October 18th. Just read this and do not take it seriously like other news reports or such. Anyway, let us go right into the main idea then.
The main idea here is that the Apple Event was not able to satisfy and interest me this time. October 18th’s Apple Event introduced 3 new major products of Apple. They are the M1Pro(a.k.a M1Max) Macbook Pro, Homepod mini, and AirPods 3. I am only going to discuss the M1Pro Macbook Pro and the AirPods3.
M1 Pro MacBook Pro
M1Pro is a new chipset which is a developed and extended version of the M1. I have an M1 Macbook Pro which I think was very much worth it. I do not regret buying it. The M1Pro chip may have better performance. However, the price is way too high and other than the chip. Also, the M1 Macbook has barely any difference with the M1 Pro Macbook Pro. The M1 Pro Macbook Pro has 8 Core CPU with 14 Core GPU. Yes, I am also surprised by the fact that it has a 14 Core GPU since it means a splendid ultimate performance (just means it is really really good and fast). The M1 Macbook Pro has an 8 Core CPU and 8 Core GPU. This is still very fast. They both have the same 16 Core neural engine. At the same SSD capacity, the M1 Pro Macbook Pro is $500 (CAD) more expensive. I am not sure if a 6 Core increase should be worth $500.
Other than that, M1 Pro Macbook Pro allows 1080p FaceTime. I do not think this is going to be a game changing point to the M1 Pro. It also does not have a touchpad even though it is a Macbook Pro. I think they got rid of it since people always have said it is useless to have (I do not think it is useless but it certainly is not needed and the money used to add it should just get cut off from the price). The 10 Core CPU and 14 Core GPU 1TB Macbook Pro costs $3,149 (CAD) which is wayyyyy too much for a laptop even though it is Apple made and has really good specs.
Before I searched for the specs, I was not really happy since I am an M1 Macbook user and I did not want a new chipset to come out and beat up my M1 chip. Good thing is, it is way too expensive so I think the M1 Macbook Pro is still good.
AirPods3
For the AirPods3, it was not impressive either since the shape looked bad. It did not seem like semi-kernel earbuds nor open-type earbuds. I prefer kernel type earbuds so I bought the AirPods Pro since it was like kernel earbuds even though it was semi-kernel. The AirPods seemed to fit for open-type but too big for kernel type. What I mean by that is that the shape was too in between. It is short like the AirPods Pro but the earbud type looked like an open-type. But if you look closely, it looks like it would fit in your ears. I am not sure about how it is going to work, but to me it did not look interesting. Not in a good way anyways. I do know that Apple made experts develop the shape of the earbuds but it still looks like they have mixed the wrong stuff together.
It also does not have ambient sound nor active noise cancelling (I cannot find it anywhere on the specs page) which really disappointed me. I bought the AirPods Pro because of the ambient sound and the noise canceling. If they got rid of that, I would not care about the sound quality and would start complaining. I am not sure yet so I will not say much but it seems like they got rid of that. If I am wrong about this, please leave a comment so that I know. I think there was more to complain about the Macbook Pro than the AirPods3. Anyway, my main point is that the products were not able to satisfy my expectations compared to products of other events. The Samsung Unpacked in August introduced multiple products such as the Z series, the Galaxy Buds 2, and the Galaxy Watch 4. They were all interesting and were able to gain my attention. The last Apple Event that was held in September introduced us to iPhone 13 and the iPad mini 6. The iPhone 13 was also disappointing but at least the iPad mini 6 was very good and it attracted me. This Apple Event did introduce two main products to the market but they were both way lower than the standard I expected. This is why the October Apple Event was disappointing and did not interest me.

They did not introduce a product that was significantly better than before nor gave us a new product that can impact our lifestyle. I might be wanting too much but compared to other tech events, I do not think this event gave us a big change. I think This post is made up of my subjective thoughts which means I wrote it with my own opinion and you might be offended but do not be and it is just an opinion. As an Apple consumer who buys multiple products from Apple, I really wish they introduce a product that can spark the attention of consumers.
